The Callaway Chrome Soft X golf ball is designed for players with high swing speeds. The popular Chrome Soft didn’t generate enough spin for some players, prompting Callaway to develop the Chrome Soft X, which performs better at high swing speeds. The 4-piece ball features a Dual SoftFast core with a slightly firmer compression than the regular Chrome Soft and a thinner urethane cover. This results in more ball speed with high swing speeds and more spin on all shots (driver, irons and wedges). This makes the ball easier to maneuver and results in a slightly lower ball flight. The inner core is firmer, but also larger, so the Chrome Soft X still delivers a soft feel.
