The SpinLord Degu was our first short pimple rubber and it remains one of our most popular. Both the topsheet and the sponge are very soft. The Degu's pimples are very short, conical, and have ribbed pimple heads.
The sponge is not only elastic but also has a well-built speed-glue effect. The speed of this rubber is ideal for controlled attacks.
The Degu is highly resistant to incoming spin and is also very easy to play. Therefore, it's a good choice for all players who have never played with a pimple-out rubber before. Advanced players will be impressed by the amount of spin this rubber can generate. No other short-pimple rubber is as suitable for playing topspin as the Degu, and it's also very good for playing undercut shots.
At the same time, counterattacks and blocked shots can be played just as easily, effectively, and accurately as with harder rubbers. The Degu isn't the best rubber for powerful shots; the Waran is much better for this. All shots played with the Degu have a very long ball contact time because the rubber is not only soft, but also very sticky. This is quite unique for a short-pimple rubber and allows the player to play more versatile than with most other comparable rubbers. If the player can fully utilize this advantage, the Degu will also be dangerous for the opponent. However, it's not a rubber so dangerous that players using it can score many easy points just by its disruptive effect.
