The Quokka is different from the Sand Wind or the Giant. It's slightly faster than the Sand Wind, but has a much stronger anti-spin effect. While it doesn't reinvent the genre of anti-spin rubbers, it cleverly complements them and enables effective anti-play with plastic balls.
The Quokka is an all-around surface, not a defensive one. The medium-hard sponge (hardness approximately 42-44 degrees) is therefore not a cushioning sponge, but rather a catapult-powerful, classic offensive sponge. The top rubber is extremely slow, thin, and has long, inward-facing bumps. The surface is sanded but grippy.
The Quokka is more unpredictable than conventional anti-spin rubbers, especially with plastic balls, because the trajectory curve is difficult to predict even in a non-spinning game. It's virtually unbeatable when blocking and ideal for attacking opponents' empty balls. It allows you to counter, shoot, or simply "press" almost any ball with a flick of the wrist.
The Quokka is easy to control and suitable for players who have never played an anti. We especially recommend the Quokka as a backhand surface for players with a strong forehand, who rarely play topspin on the backhand side and have difficulty accepting their opponent's cutting strokes. However, it's not the right surface if you play passively or prefer to play from mid-range.
