The Quokka is different from the Sand Wind or the Giant. It is slightly faster than the Sand Wind, but has a much stronger anti-effect. Although it does not reinvent the genre of anti-spin rubbers, it complements it sensibly and makes effective anti-play possible with plastic balls.
The Quokka is an all-round surface, not a defensive surface. The medium hard sponge (hardness about 42 - 44 degrees) is therefore not a dampening sponge, but rather a catapult-strong classic offensive sponge. The top rubber is extremely slow, thin and has long inward-facing bumps. The surface is sanded but grippy.
The Quokka is more unpredictable than conventional anti-spin rubbers, especially with plastic balls, because the trajectory curve is difficult to predict even in the game without rotation. It is almost unbeatable in the block game and ideal for own attacks on empty balls of the opponent. It allows to counter, shoot or simply "press" almost all balls with a short movement of the wrist.
The Quokka is easy to control and suitable for players who have never played an anti before. We recommend the Quokka especially to players with a strong forehand as a backhand surface, when there is little topspin played on the backhand side and there are problems with accepting the cutting movement of the opponent. However, it is not the right surface if you play passively or prefer the game from half distance.
