Product description
Cybershape is a completely new type of frame with a unique shape and a larger contact surface!
This table tennis blade is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Not only does it have a unique and impressive shape, it also has an optimized hitting area. Our studies show that for most players, the optimal hitting area is on the top half of the blade. That’s why we optimized the hitting area, 11% larger for the shakehand grip and 9% larger for the penhold grip compared to a traditional blade.
One of the special features of Cybershape is that during the return the hitting area is up to 6.5 cm closer to the table compared to 2.5 cm for a round frame. Since most of a professional player’s shots (both backhand and forehand) are made on the top half of the racket, this is where Cybershape excels. The larger hitting area provides an improved sweet spot, making it easier for the player to control their short serves and returns, for example. Because the hitting area has been increased on the top, the bottom has been reduced by 2% in order not to make the frame too heavy and cause an imbalance. Cybershape is a 5+2-layer frame based on CCF (Close Core Fibre) technology, which means that the carbon layer lies directly on the wooden core. The result is more control and speed in your game.
Thanks to the lightweight and technologically advanced German-made carbon fiber composite, we were able to compensate for the weight. So even though Cyberspace has a larger surface area than a regular blade, it is not heavier. The unique shape of Cybershape also makes it easier for the player to see the hitting area when serving. Thanks to the different angles, the player has six angles to choose from, depending on the type and amount of spin they want.
In collaboration with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology we also tested the vibration properties of Cybershape, i.e. how the blade reacts when it hits the ball. The tests showed that Cybershape has a larger sweet spot that is further out from the blade compared to a regular shaped blade.
The frequency response is also more linear, meaning that the vibrations are transferred differently to the grip and hand. For the player, this means a completely new and unique feeling during the game compared to a traditional frame.
